A 43-year-old man from Shrewsbury, who owns auto body shops in Worcester and Everett, was sentenced to eight months in prison on Wednesday in connection with a payroll tax scheme.
Adam Haddad orchestrated a scheme that resulted in a tax loss of more than $290,000 for the agency.
In September of 2020, Haddad pleaded guilty to three counts of aiding the preparation of false tax returns in U.S. District Court in Boston.
In addition to eight months in federal prison, Haddad also received one year of supervised release and was ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $292,231, authorities said.
