11-Floor Building Hosting Naivas Supermarket Put on Auction

An 11-storey building at the heart of Thika Town with a monthly income of Ksh6.7 million has been put on auction.
A notice by Garam Investments Auctioneers published in a local daily on Monday, May 10, indicated that the building, Thika Business Center, which hosts Naivas supermarket was placed under auction on orders of the chargee s lawyers.
Situated in the centre of Thika CBD, the building boasts 11 storeys and two basements with a capacity of 45 parking slots. The basements also contains water tanks and an underpass store.

A suspected motorbike thief narrowly escaped death after he was cornered and beaten up by boda boda operators outside Huduma Centre in Embu Town.
The public joined the boda boda operators to stone the man and burn him.
By the time police arrived at the scene, the man was unconscious, making the officers to believe he was dead. The police had picked the man’s “body” to take it to the mortuary when he started moving his limbs.
90-Year-old Chania Bridge Reopened After Renovation

The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has opened the Old Chania bridge allowing vehicles to use the historic bridge after rehabilitation.
The bridge which was built in 1936 has been closed for months following reports of structural damage prompting the roads agency to embark on repairing it to prevent a disaster.
A resident who spoke to
Kenyans.co.ke stated that the opening of the bridge will play a major role in reducing traffic for motorists seeking to access and exit Thika town.

A driver captured on camera insulting a female motorist before vandalising her car on Thika superhighway has been arrested after the clip went viral.
In the clip, the suspect, driving a Nissan matatu, is heard hurling insults at the woman before ramming her car on the side.
The victim did not stop, he reached for a hammer-like thing and smashed the woman’s car she told him he was filming him. Just film me, there is no problem, but I will not pay, the suspect is heard telling his victim as he smashes the car.
