CONWAY, S.C. (WMBF) – A railroad bridge in Conway will be closed to river traffic in anticipation of high water, county officials announced Monday morning.
According to information from Horry County Government, the Waccamaw Coast Line Railroad bridge, located at mile 44.4 in Conway, is closed to marine traffic.
The return to normal operations will be determined at a later date, based on weather and rainfall, a county announcement stated.

HORRY COUNTY, S.C. (WMBF) - WMBF News obtained an email showing that all Horry County Government employees were offered the chance to receive the Moderna vaccine.
This comes as those eligible for the vaccine are clamoring to get it where they can, some waiting in line, while thousands of others are on hospital waiting lists.

CONWAY, S.C. (WMBF) – Horry County Government has received approximately $10.7 million from the U.S. Department of the Treasury for emergency rental assistance in the county, officials announced Monday.
According to a press release, the funding is in addition to the annual HUD funding for emergency housing assistance.
“Using these new funds, Horry County will expand current programming, and details on the launch of those initiatives will be announced in the near future,” county officials said.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – The Myrtle Beach SkyWheel will be lit in blue Wednesday night in honor of an Horry County officer who was killed in the line of duty.
Horry County Police LCpl. Melton Gore was killed Tuesday night when he was hit by a car while removing debris from the roadway near the intersection of Highway 22 and Highway 31, according to authorities.
