Man admits killing brother-in-law in Glasgow in row over dog Published A Glasgow man has admitted killing his brother-in-law in a family row over a dog. Hashim Uddin, 28, stabbed Omer Sadiq during a confrontation at Uddin s home in Pollok in September 2020. Mr Sadiq had gone to the flat with his wife, Uddin s sister, after it emerged Uddin was planning to leave his wife Iqraa Malik. But the 32-year-old was struck twice with a hunting knife, dying later in hospital from the fatal injuries. Uddin was accused of murdering Mr Sadiq but prosecutors accepted his guilty plea to the lesser charge of culpable homicide.

A Galashiels man has pleaded guilty to engaging in a course of conduct which was abusive to his ex-partner BACKGROUND reports have been ordered into a Galashiels man who admitted engaging in a course of conduct which was abusive to his ex-partner. Thomas Ross, 37, of Queen Elizabeth Square, pleaded guilty to shouting and swearing at the woman between December and March and leaving her abusive telephone messages. Man who killed ex-soldier friend jailed for eight years Published A 38-year-old man who killed an ex-soldier in an unprovoked attack has been jailed for eight years and four months. Garrie McCann repeatedly punched his friend William Prieston on his head and body at his flat in Falkirk. Mr Prieston, 43, never recovered from his injuries and died weeks later in hospital. McCann pleaded guilty to a charge of culpable homicide at the High Court in Glasgow. A previous hearing was told that Mr Prieston, who was known as Billy, had served with the Household Cavalry. He was medically discharged due to a number of serious injuries suffered during combat.
