Man who raped four daughters denied appeal against 13-year jail term

A man who pleaded guilty to sexual offences against his three daughters and his step-daughter over more than 20 years has appealed against his 13-year prison sentence in a Brisbane court, arguing it was âmanifestly excessiveâ and he was âdenied procedural fairnessâ during the judicial process.
The offender, identified only as FVN, committed 23 sexual offences against the four young girls between about May 1978 and September 1999. He was aged 29 to 51 when the offending occurred.
THE crew on a new TV series based on an Irvine Welsh book were spotted filming in a Glasgow scheme today. Shooting is underway for the six-part drama, which is based on the Trainspotting novelist s 2008 Filth sequel, titled Crime.
The show is an adaptation of Welsh s 2008 novel Crime Reader Thomas Bradley sent in pictures of the crews, who he said had been set up in the Wyndford since this morning. The series will be Edinburgh-born Welsh s first work to be adapted for the small screen, after a number of successes with films.
It follows on from the story of Filth, which was adapted into a film starring James McAvoy

ATLANTA - A new record was set at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Wednesday for the number of COVID-19 vaccines administered in a single day.
Fulton County health officials said 12,726 shots were given out on Wednesday. That includes 3,010 walk-ups.
No appointments are necessary to get the Pfizer vaccine at the stadium. Officials also announced Thursday, the vaccination center at the stadium will remain open through June 15. That will add nearly 35,000 more doses distributed per week.

The Jackson Police Department tweeted that Desmond Lindsey, 20, and Mark Trotter, 33, were arrested and charged in Thomas Bradley s death. Lindsey and Trotter are both charged with murder, according to Hinds County jail records. Lindsey is also charged with simple assault and Trotter is also charged with sale of amphetamine.
Bradley, 45, was found shot several times on April 4 after the U-Haul truck he was inside crashed into a home on Archer Avenue. No one else was inside the truck at the time of the incident.
