GBI arrests Grady County corrections officer for enticing a child for indecent purposes

GRADY COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) â The Georgia Bureau of Investigation says a Grady County corrections officer is in jail after inappropriate contact with an underage female.
According to the GBI, 20-year-old Seth Adam Matthews was arrested on Monday, April 19, 2021, for enticing a child for indecent purposes and violation of oath by public official. Matthews was a jailer at the Grady County Jail at the time of his arrest.
On Tuesday, April 13, 2021, the GBI was requested by the Grady County Sheriffâs Office to assist in an investigation involving allegations of inappropriate contact between Matthews and an underage female on a social media site.

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WCTV) - The Thomas County Sheriffâs Office opened up the vaccination rollout to inmates.
Since the vaccine rollout started, questions regarding when inmates would be eligible has continued to circulate. According to Chief Jailer Lt. Virginia Williams, the health department approached her with the ability to vaccinate inmates a few weeks back.
She said she shared the opportunity with Sheriff Carlton Powell, and he agreed.

THOMASVILLE, Ga. (WALB) - Twelve Thomas County Jail inmates are now facing charges in connection to a fight at the jail, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI).
In a press release, the GBI said that it was contacted by the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office around 12:30 in the afternoon on Feb. 15 to assist with an investigation regarding a fight between multiple inmates at the jail.
“Through multiple interviews of involved inmates, jail staff and other witnesses, charges were brought against those identified to be involved. Jail staff quickly secured the other inmates, segregated those fighting, and stopped the fight from continuing. Medical aid was rendered to those that required it with one transported to an area hospital with more severe, non-life-threatening injuries,” the press release state

THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) â The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, along with local law enforcement, have charged a Georgia man with six felony counts of exploitation and intimidation of disabled adults, elder persons, and residents.
The GBI was requested by the Brooks County Sheriffâs Office to initiate an investigation into multiple thefts of monies from an elderly couple in Brooks County.
During the investigation, GBI discovered thefts totaling more than $20,000 in Brooks, Thomas and Colquitt Counties dating back to November 2020. Agents expect that number to increase as they receive additional financial records related to the thefts from various businesses.
