THOMAS COUNTY, Ga. (WTXL) — The Georgia Bureau of Investigation, along with local law enforcement, have charged a Georgia man with six felony counts of exploitation and intimidation of disabled adults, elder persons, and residents.
The GBI was requested by the Brooks County Sheriff’s Office to initiate an investigation into multiple thefts of monies from an elderly couple in Brooks County.
During the investigation, GBI discovered thefts totaling more than $20,000 in Brooks, Thomas and Colquitt Counties dating back to November 2020. Agents expect that number to increase as they receive additional financial records related to the thefts from various businesses.
