IKEA opens new showroom in Navi Mumbai

The Swedish home furnishings retailer is already present online in Hyderabad and Pune. Its Navi Mumbai store opens today.
IKEA (part of the Ingka Group), the worldâs leading Swedish home furnishings retailer, will open the doors to its Navi Mumbai store at 11 a.m. today. The store will remain open daily between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. The Navi Mumbai store is IKEAâs second store in India and the first big format store in Maharashtra.
A press note mentions that the store is a landmark development intended to attract an annual visitation of five million-plus people. Located on the Thane-Belapur Road, approximately 600 metres from the Turbhe railway station, the 5.3 lakh sq. ft. store promises to be a âfun day outâ for the family. It will offer 7,000 well-designed, affordable, good quality, functional and sustainable home furnishing products, along with ideas and inspiration for every home in Mumbai.

World s leading home furnishings retailer IKEA will open its second store in the country at Navi Mumbai on December 18, today.
In a bid to provide a safe shopping experience during COVID times, the Swedish retailer is taking extra precautions for its new store located on the Thane-Belapur Road, a company statement said.
The store in Navi Mumbai will be employing close to 1,200 co-workers out of which 50 per cent are women.
The new store is its first big format store in Maharashtra, spanning over 5.3 lakh sq ft and situated near the Turbhe local railway station and stocks over 7,000 home furnishing products.

Swedish home furnishing giant IKEA opened a second outlet in Navi Mumbai on Friday.

Mumbai: Ikea, the Swedish home furnishings retailer, opened its second outlet in India today at Navi Mumbai. Reportedly, the store is the size of 10 football fields put together (5.3 lakh sq. ft) and is situated on the Thane-Belapur Road, very close to Turbhe station. Two years ago, when IKEA opened its first store in Hyderabad, more than 40,000 people visited it on the first day. The lanes leading up to the outlet at HITEC City in Cyberabad was packed with cars, and extra traffic police had to be deployed to control the situation.
