Representative image In a bid to go contactless, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to install Quick Response (QR) codes by upgradation of Automatic Fare Collection System (AFCS), The Economic Times said in a report. DMRC has invited Expression of Interest (EOI) from private firms for the upgradation work. DMRC has invited expressions of interest for implementation of QR code, EMV (enabled Account Based Ticketing (Master/VISA), and RuPay based ticketing, said Anup Dayal, Executive Director - corporate communications, DMRC.

IANS spoke to Anup Dayal, Executive Director, Corporate Communications, DMRC, on the subject. Dayal said, In order to upgrade ticketing technology, DMRC envisages to upgrade the existing Automatic Fare Collection System to enable the QR Code, EMV (Account Based Ticketing) and Rupay based open loop ticketing following the NCMC standard model as specified by MoHUA (Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs) for interoperability with other operators by use of non-proprietary standards so that the interface is scalable to other networks (transit operator/retail outlets/parking etc.) in Delhi/NCR.

Landbank to assist in bank account opening of nat’l ID registrants By TED CORDERO, GMA News Published February 5, 2021 1:54pm State-owned Land Bank of the Philippines said Friday it has allotted more than P153 million for the hiring of over 1,000 service contract workers   who will assist in the opening of bank accounts for unbanked national ID registrants. In a statement, Landbank said the service contract workers are now being deployed across various locations in the country. Citing data from the Philippine Statistics Authority, the bank said that of the 10.5 million initial registrants to the national ID system or PhilSys, more than 82% indicated that they do not have bank accounts.

MANILA, Feb. 5 The Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) has allotted more than P153 million for the hiring of over 1,000 service contract workers (SCWs) who are now being deployed to various locations across the country to assist in the opening of transaction accounts for unbanked national ID registrants. LANDBANK president-CEO Cecilia Borromeo said facilitating the opening of bank accounts for registrants to the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) will help ensure the speedy and efficient delivery of future government assistance programs to unbanked national ID holders. Under this setup, the SCWs, who will augment LANDBANK s existing manpower,  will co-locate with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) in national ID registration centers not serviced by the bank’s Agent Banking Partners (ABPs), Borromeo said.

LandBank partners with DOTr to boost PH transport modernization

CALOOCAN CITY, Feb. 1 (PIA) The Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank) has partnered with the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and its attached agencies on various programs in support of the National Government’s transport modernization agenda.  Under the fuel subsidy scheme, LandBank has so far distributed direct cash grants worth P6,500 each to 122,311 transport operators who have been adversely affected by the implementation of COVID-19 safety protocols. Distribution of cash grants is ongoing and targeted for completion by April 2021. The Bank has also extended appraisal services for the North-South Commuter Railway Extension Project (NSCR-Ex), which is designed to expand the existing mass transportation in Metropolitan Manila and adjacent areas. Likewise, under the Resettlement Action Plan Entitlements Distribution Mechanism, LandBank delivers cash entitlements to eligible residents and other Project-Affected Persons (PAPs) of the Extension Project.
