Kewanee Park District board members and employees held a Taco Night Thursday at Baker Park s 19th Hole to raise money for the Windmont Park Christmas Lighting Fund. Since vandals damaged displays and lights in the park on Dec. 26, approximately $6,500 has been raised through a number of community fundraisers to make sure the park is relit next December.
Tractors from the past and present were driven to school and on display Thursday by members of the Wethersfield FFA for Tractor Day, part of National FFA Week activities.
PORTAGE MI (WKZO AM/FM) –Â The city of Portage is holding a Valentineâs Day ice sculpting demonstration on Sunday from 2-3 pm.
The event is set for the Grain Elevator at the Celery Flats Historical Area, and will feature several artists creating âUltimate Coolâ love-themed ice sculptures.
The event is free to the public, but will be limited to the first 100 spectators.

This Valentine s Day won t be looking the way it normally does, with fancy restaurants filled to capacity with lovers and couples sharing their appreciation for each other and for good food. Although indoor eating has resumed with a low capacity, it just won t have that normal feel to it. So we adapt and think of new things to do to share a romantic day together. This Sunday, one such event will be held in front of the grain elevator at the Celery Flats in Portage.

Located at 7328 Garden Lane Portage, MI 49002, the Flats is hosting an event for couples as they watch creations come to life before them from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. Unfortunately there is only space for so many people, as their website informs us that only a limited number of people can attend this

A Thunder Bay group dedicated to preserving the history of the city s grain trade has received a prestigious provincial award.
The Ontario Historical Society has awarded Thunder Bay s Friends of Grain Elevators (FOGE) with its President s Award, something FOGE secretary Nancy Perozzo said will give the group a boost as it moves forward with new projects.
