NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WMC) - Federal agents executed search warrants at the homes and offices of several Republican lawmakers Friday.
House Speaker Cameron Sexton provided details in a news conference late Friday morning saying the searches are part of an ongoing investigation connected to former House Speaker Glen Casadaâs office.
âThis has been a trying week for our country, and this will be a difficult time for our state as well as we go down this road,â said Sexton.

Police in Lexington have cleared the downtown area, after shutting down sections of streets due to a suspicious vehicle.
An officer noticed a large RV parked in a downtown parking lot Thursday night about 7:40 p.m. An explosives detection canine was brought in and alerted the vehicle, Lexington police said.
The incident happened in the area of Short and Market streets, according to the Lexington Police Department.
No explosives were found in the vehicle after the department s hazardous devices unit responded and made contact with the driver, according to the department. The Lexington scene was cleared about 10:15 pm.
