Residents in the Central Okanagan will now have to wear masks in all indoor public spaces after an outbreak of COVID-19 was declared in the region, mostly among unvaccinated people.

The chief medical officer for Interior Health, Dr. Sue Pollock, made the announcement Wednesday along with Health Minister Adrian Dix and Dr. Bonnie Henry, B.C.’s provincial health officer.
Pollock said that effective at midnight residents in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Westbank First Nation, Lake Country, Peachland and elsewhere in the region are required to wear masks in all public indoor spaces.
