Six sentenced in 35th District Court

th District Court by Judge Mike Smith. Kyle James pled guilty to the offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver and was sentenced to 12 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. Further, James, on probation for the state jail felony offenses of Possession of a Controlled Substance, was revoked and sentenced to 12 months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division. Hayden Cox, on probation for the felony offenses of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Drug Free Zone, was adjudicated and sentenced to 7 years, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, Institutional Division. Further, Cox, on probation for the state jail felony offense of Theft of a Firearm and Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, was adjudicated and sentenced to 6 months, Texas Department of Criminal Justice, State Jail Division.

Brown County Sheriff s Report – May 19

On Monday, May 17 Deputy Andre Smoot was dispatched to a loose bull on the Highway 183 N. No owner could be located, and a cowboy later arrived on scene. The bull was estrayed back to the sheriff’s office livestock pins. On Tuesday, May 18 Deputy Andre Smoot responded to a dispute between mother and son. It was determined no offense had occurred. Adult protective services were contacted, due to living conditions. On Tuesday, May 18 Deputy Toby Mathis, responded to Quite Country RV Park. This was for a report of criminal mischief. An individual reported someone tried to get into is RV’s water heater. Information was gathered and a report was made.
