SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Tahoe Prosperity Center (TPC) was dismissed, with prejudice, from the lawsuit brought against the nonprofit, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA), Verizon and others to stop a cell tower from being added in South Lake Tahoe.
Plaintiffs Monica Eisenstecken, Ben Lebovitz of Tahoe Stewards LLC, Robert M. Aaron of Tahoe for Safer Tech, and the Wyoming-based Environmental Health Trust had filed the lawsuit after a cell tower was approved on the property of Hansen s Resort near the intersection of Ski Run Boulevard and Saddle Road. The planned cell tower is adjacent to Eisenstecken s property.

RENO, Nev. - A federal lawsuit seeking a moratorium on construction of new cellphone towers at Lake Tahoe claims Verizon Wireless and regional regulators are failing to adequately consider potential harm to public health and the environment under antiquated rules that turn a blind eye to modern technology.
A local resident and conservation groups who filed the suit in U.S. District Court in Sacramento say they’re trying to protect the same majestic views Mark Twain wrote about in the 1860s at the mountain lake straddling the California-Nevada line.
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. A South Lake Tahoe woman and several nonprofit groups are taking their fight against cell towers to the California District Court.
Monica Eisenstecken, Tahoe Stewards, LLC, Tahoe for Safer Tech, and the Environmental Health Trust are asking the court to put a halt on the development of new cell towers and wireless antennas and facilities.
Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and its board and Tahoe Prosperity Center have both been named in the suit as well as Verizon Wireless.
When a cell tower was approved by South Tahoe officials to be built across the street from Eisenstecken’s home, she appealed the city’s decision. She, along with many members of the community cited health and environmental concerns from the cell towers and small cell boxes, as well as fear of a decrease in property value.
