Vadodara: Forty days after his wife went missing under mysterious circumstances, police inspector Ajay Desai is now being considered a suspect by the investigators.
The police said that Desai’s role has been suspicious since the beginning as he hadn’t shown much interest in tracking down his wife Sweety who disappeared on June 5 from their home in Karjan.
“We are investigating the case from all angles. Desai is also a suspect in the case and that’s why we have conducted his polygraph test and suspect detection test,” said Sudhir Kumar Desai, superintendent of police. Earlier, the cops were searching for Sweety and had distributed her photographs at public places.

VADODARA: The bones that were found from an abandoned house in Atali village in Dahej have turned out to be that of a human. The district police had found the bones from the house four days ago when they were looking for Sweety Desai, wife of a police inspector Ajay Desai, who has been missing for over 40 days. The bones that were in slightly burnt condition were sent to Surat forensic science laboratory (FSL) for testing.
“We have been informed that the bones appear to be that of a human. Though, the gender of the person hasn’t been ascertained yet. We will now send them for further tests to Gandhinagar FSL. Also, we will try to extract DNA from the bones,” said a police official.
