Furniture Mart USA has purchased the building and land at 801 W. Central Entrance in Duluth for $3 million, according to state real estate records.
The 6.7-acre lot in the Stone Ridge Shopping Center is home to the former Shopko building, which closed in June 2019. Spirit Halloween opened a pop-up shop in the building from August to November 2020.

There was genuine excitement four years ago when Jamestown received a $10 million state Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant.
Unfortunately, as some projects that received DRI money fizzled, so has that excitement.
Priority projects included $1 million to help redevelop the former Key Bank building at Second and Main streets. That project will not happen, though whoever purchases the building could still receive the DRI money.
And, let’s not forget the $830,000 that was spent to help turn the former W.T. Grant Department Store building on Third and Washington streets into the Jamestown Brewing Company, which opened for less than a year before closing its doors while being the subject of a nasty court battle between the developer and the chosen tenant.

SIOUX FALLS – Jaden Flor scored in the last minute of the second period Sunday to break a tie and the Oahe Capitals earned their 11th win in 12 games this season with a 3-1 win over Sioux Falls Flyers 1 at Furniture Mart Arena.
Raef Briggs had tied the game 4:19 into the second period after Sioux Falls 1 had scored first nearly three minutes earlier. A Keenan Howard powerplay goal with 3:17 left in the third period gave the Capitals (11-0-0-1) their final margin. Elliot Leif scored two assists. Carter Schulz made 28 saves.
Oahe will return home for three games next weekend at the Expo Center in Fort Pierre. The Capitals will host Aberdeen at 8:00 PM on Friday and Sioux Center at 7:00 PM Saturday and noon Sunday.
