Amateur singers demand reopening of Lok Virsa Open Mic programme

Daily Times July 19, 2021 Amateur artists on Sunday demanded reopening of Lok Virsa ‘Open Mic’ programme, a popular platform for emerging singers. Open Mic programme was an initiative to discover melodious voices and used to be held on weekly basis audition. The Open Mic programme was helping those who were eager to sing but they lack a proper or available platform to perform. An emerging singer Uzma Nadeem said Open Mic was very popular music audition program which was started in 2017, she also participated in the first session of Open Mic. Another amateur singer Nasir Jamal said that Open Mic was very productive platform he said that in Open Mic singers sang a number of songs which were judged by a panel of judges comprising of top professional singers.

Lok Virsa museums to remain closed on 1st day of Eid July 18, 2021 Islamabad: National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (NIFTH) Lok Virsa museums will remain closed on the first day of Eidul Azha. As per previous practice, both the Museums National Heritage Museum and Pakistan Monument Museum administered by Lok Virsa will reopen with routine public timings on the second day of Eid. Executive Director Lok Virsa Talha Ali said that a large number of people used to visit National Heritage Museum and Monument Museum on special occasions of Eid festivals and Independence Day celebrations. Talha Ali said that visitors should follow COVID-19 SOPs including wearing masks and social distancing.

Musical event Full Strawberry Super Moon to be held tomorrow

Daily Times June 23, 2021 A musical event ‘Full Strawberry SuperMoon’ will be organized here on June 24 at rooftop theatre of National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage, Lok Virsa. Talking to APP, Executive Director Lok Virsa, Talha Ali said the two-hour show would entertain music lovers whereas strict Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures would be observed during the event. He informed that the event would be organised by Lok Virsa in collaboration with Hill Joint and Echo Records. People are encouraged to listen to their favourite music which aimed to entertain the youth and provide them an opportunity to enjoy their cherished musicians, he added. He said a number of music bands and artists would perform with mesmerizing performances to enthral audience with their skilful expertise.

Lok Virsa changes time for Museums due to COVID-19 pandemic March 16, 2021 National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage has changed the timing for Virsa Heritage Museum and Pakistan Monument Museum due to COVID-19 pandemic. Executive Director Lok Virsa, Talha Ali told APP, that both the museums would remain open for public from Tuesday to Sunday daily, between 10 am to 6 pm, with a break for prayer on Friday. He said Monday would be a holiday at Lok Virsa museum, adding all visitors would be fully facilitated and COVID-19 SOPs would be strictly implemented during their visit between 10am to 6pm. The heritage and Monument Museums are attracting a large number of people from different parts of the country, featuring cultural heritage.
