Black young people’s employment prospects hit by COVID Black Caribbean young people were found to be the most entrepreneurial, 60% of them had business ideas BLACK YOUNG people’s employment prospects in the UK have been worse hit by the COVID-19 pandemic, research surveying over 1000 people aged 16-25 has shown. The report, which was published today by ClearView Research Ltd, found that 45% of Black, Caribbean young people had been furloughed due to COVID-19, compared with 26% of their white peers from the UK.  Black Caribbean young people also suffered as their working hours were reduced at more than twice the rate (32%) of white young people from the UK (15%).
