Executives of the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, JUSUN, have again, met with the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Justice Ibrahim Tanko Muhammad, to explain why they would not suspend the strike action they commenced on April 6 to demand for the implementation of financial autonomy for the Judiciary.

The Princess Royal carried out her first public engagement since her father’s funeral, visiting three NHS hospitals in Gloucestershire.
Princess Anne’s visits were to thank the staff of each hospital for their hard work over the past year and the many challenges of the coronavirus pandemic. She first visited the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, where she opened a commemorative garden that had been designed by Danny Clarke.
“It’s incredibly important for families and friends of loved ones lost to COVID-19 to have a space where they can visit and reflect,” said Dr Hina Iftikhar, Chief Registrar at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital.

Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Ibrahim Muhammad, has said that the strike embarked on by the Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN) is legal since it is aimed at realizing their constitutionally guaranteed rights.
The CJN stated this Wednesday when some members of the striking judiciary workers led by the Union’s Deputy National President Emmanuel Abioye, visited him to report the position of the Union on the ongoing strike.
JUSUN had asked its members to proceed on indefinite strike pending when state governments obey the constitutional provisions of financial autonomy of the Judiciary.
The Union had in March gave a 21-day ultimatum but was not heeded by the government.
