Firefighters battle brush fire in Scotia

Created: May 17, 2021 07:10 AM It was a long night for Scotia firefighters as they kept an eye on a brush fire. Firefighters remained on scene early Monday morning just to make sure hotspots were out and that nothing rekindled. This all started Sunday, when firefighters were called to the scene on Sunnyside Road. When they arrived, firefighters found piles of logs on fire about seven or eight acres worth. That fire then started to spread to the area around it. The fire chief says the land is used by a tree service company for storage, and this fire was challenging to put out because of how widespread it was.
