As the legal community in the country mourns the death of the former chairman of the Ibadan branch of Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and a prominent Egbe Amofin leader, Chief Emmanuel Abiodun, on December 23, a former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice in Oyo State, Chief Mutalubi Adebayo Ojo, has lamented how the menace of commercial motorcyclists popularly known as okada, claimed the legal icon before Christmas. x
According to Ojo, an okada operator riding against traffic hit Abiodun, killing him instantly. He said: “On Wednesday, the sunset for the Ibadan bar at noonday when an unknown hit-and-run okada rider, in their usual notoriety, knocked down one of the finest gentlemen ever produced by the legal profession, Chief Emmanuel Abiodun.

The Caretaker/ Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress yesterday appointed, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, as chairman of its South-south reconciliation committee.
The was disclosed in a communique signed by the Secretary of the committee and an APC Chieftain from South-south, Lucky Imasuen shortly after a meeting of the party leaders from the geo-political zone in Abuja.
The communique also named other members of the committee as: Lucky Imasuen, secretary; Chief Sunny Jackson, Dr. Mrs. Maryam Ali, Dr. Sam Jaja, Senator Clever Ikisikpo and Chief Emmanuel Nsan.
The communique read in part, “The meeting applauds Mr. President for the tremendous work he is doing under very difficult circumstances. Consequently, a vote of confidence was passed on the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari.
Odigie-Oyegun heads South South APC reconciliation panel

The Caretaker/Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress has appointed a former National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, as the chairman of its South-South reconciliation committee.
This is coming on the heels of a meeting held by party stalwarts from the South-South, in Abuja on Tuesday with a view to reposition the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The decision appointing Odigie-Oyegun was contained in a communique signed by the Secretary of the APC CENCPC, Senator John Akpan- Udo-Edehe and an APC chieftain from the region, Lucky Imasuen, after a meeting of the APC leaders at the Ladi Kwali Hall, Sheraton Hotel, Abuja, on Tuesday.

The Caretaker, Extra-Ordinary National Convention Planning Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has appointed a former National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, as the chairman of its South-South reconciliation committee.
The decision was announced in a communique signed by Lucky Imasuen, the Secretary of the committee and made public on Wednesday, following a meeting of party leaders from the geo-political zone in Abuja on Tuesday.
Other members of the committee include Chief Sunny Jackson, Senator Clever Ikisikpo, Dr. Mrs. Maryam Ali, Dr. Sam Jaja and Chief Emmanuel Nsan.
APC leaders at the meeting also reiterated the resolution of the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the party, asking all members who had pending lawsuits against the party and or its leaders to withdraw them from court.
