Chamoli (Uttarakhand) [India], February 9 (ANI): As many as 32 bodies have been recovered so far from different areas hit by the glacier burst in Chamoli district, while 197 people are still missing, Uttarakhand Police said. 197 people are missing. 32 bodies recovered so far from various locations, 8 of these identified, police said.
The police also issued a helpline number to provide information about bodies that have not been identified yet. People, who know someone who is missing, can contact DIG Law and Order on +91 7500016666, they will be sent photos of 24 bodies that are yet to be identified, on WhatsApp, police said.
Efforts are underway to rescue workers trapped inside a tunnel in Uttarakhand's Chamoli district, two days after flash floods in the region swept away almost everything along the Alaknanda river system.
Relief and rescue work is expected to be hampered at the Glacier burst site in India s northern hilly state of Uttarakhand on Sunday, as night darkness engulfed the area, an official at the local disaster management office said.

Chamoli (Uttarakhand): A 13.2 MW small hydro project on the Rishiganga river was completely washed off due to the glacier burst in Uttarakhand on Sunday. The administration has, however, said that there is no threat of floods on the downstream, or to the nearby villages. Another project, Tapovan dam, was also washed off in the calamity that has resulted in the death of eight so far.

NTPC says Tapovan project partly damaged, monitoring situation
Part of an under-construction hydropower project of state-run power major NTPC has been damaged by the avalanche in Uttarakhand s Chamoli district on Sunday. The company has said that it is monitoring the situation continuously along with the district administration and police.
Part of the under-construction Tapovan Vishnugad hydropower project (520 MW) has faced damages while another privately-owned Rishi Ganga hydro project (130 MW) was completely devastated. An avalanche near Tapovan in Uttarakhand has damaged a part of our under-construction hydropower project in the region. While rescue operation is on, the situation is being monitored continuously with the help of district administration and police, NTPC said in a tweet.
