Sadler s Peaky Blinder Irish Cup final preview
When the final whistle sounds at tonight s Sadler s Peaky Blinder Irish Cup final between Larne and Linfield there will either be a new name on the trophy or another notch on the belt of the most successful club in the 140-year history of the competition.
For Larne, this will be only a sixth appearance in the blue riband decider - and their first in 16 years - with the East Antrim club yet to experience success at the final hurdle, while Linfield will be going for a remarkable 44th win in their 64th final.
Creeks are dwindling, reservoirs are draining, and water suppliers are sounding the alarm.
Marin declared a drought emergency this week, the latest step in a crisis that will only deepen into the summer. Water providers large and small are conserving and creating backup plans, and they are searching for new sources of water. Prospects of outside help are diminishing, so suppliers are turning to their customers to save them from running dry.
“You only have to drive by Nicasio Dam or Stafford Lake to see the dire conditions we are facing,” Supervisor Dennis Rodoni said. “Drought conditions are the worst we have seen in over 140 years in Marin. Please take this drought and recommendations from the water agencies seriously. While we have plenty of water for health and safety of our families, it is important that we do not waste any water.”

Sadler s Peaky Blinder Irish Cup R2: Holders Glentoran enter the fray
The Sadler s Peaky Blinder Irish Cup resumes on Saturday with eight second round ties which will take the winning sides a step closer to a place in the Mourneview Park decider at the end of the month.
Holders Glentoran enter the fray for the first time in what promises to be the tie of the round when they welcome Cliftonville to The Oval. Mick McDermott s side received a bye last time out following Dundela s withdrawal while the Reds swept past Portstewart.
This will be the fifth time this season the sides have met and despite the Glens coming out on top on three occasions each game has been closely fought, being settled either by just one goal or a late winner. Kicking off at 5:30pm, the game will be streamed live on BBC NI and the iPlayer.
