Following the deterioration of the situation in Tunisia, an emergency meeting was held at the headquarters of the Libyan Embassy in Tunisia, convened by the Libyan Embassy’s Chargé d’affaires, and attended by the Libyan consul-general in Tunisia and a number of technical attachés to the Embassy.

Dr. Mohamed Al-Menfi, Head of the Presidential Council, met with Niger’s President Mohamed Bazoum and Chad’s Transitional Military Council President Mahamat Idriss Déby on the sidelines of the Chad Basin’s extraordinary summit of heads of state and government in Nigeria’s capital, Abuja.
The meeting focused on the bilateral ties, with an emphasis on enhancing security cooperation and border control, as well as strengthening the fight against terrorism, illegal migration, and organized crime, according to the Presidential Council’s Information Office.

The Ambassadors of Germany, Italy and the United States as well as the Charge d’Affaires of France and the United Kingdom, joined by UNSMIL, held a virtual meeting with the Head of the Presidential Council, Fayez Al-Sarraj, to reiterate their governments’ support for the success of the UN-led Libyan Political Dialogue Forum.
In a joint statement released by the US embassy in Libya, the heads of mission welcomed recent prisoner exchanges and urged rapid progress to facilitate the reopening of the Misrata-Sirte coastal highway as agreed by the Joint Military Commission in October.
