Speaker Hoyle greets Palestinian Ambassador – virtually

Palestinian parliamentary and presidential elections scheduled for later this year have been welcomed by the Speaker of the House of Commons.
Sir Lindsay Hoyle said it was ‘good news’ democratic elections were taking place for the first time in 15 years.
Mr Speaker made the comments during an introductory chat with Dr Husam Zomlot – Head of the Palestinian Mission to the UK - who previously served as Head of Mission to the US.
During their conversation, Dr Zomlot asked if UK MPs could be observers to the elections – and if Sir Lindsay would be willing to meet the Palestinian Speaker when elected.
