It’s another Bandcamp Friday, the day when the online music seller waives its revenue share and puts all of sales into artists’ pockets. In honour of the musical holiday, NOW writers Kelsey Adams, Kevin Ritchie and Richard Trapunski rounded up some of our favourite new music by Toronto artists from this past month. It’s a supersized edition of this roundup with music from Bandcamp and beyond.

Head Above The Waters, tackles success and dreams over a funky, house-inspired bassline. As with their other releases, including the Harrison-produced By Myself , Dijah s fun flow shines over bouncy production.
ADVERTISEMENT The clip finds Dijah and Chris doing jobs they hate, eventually blowing them off after reaching their breaking point. In the video, Chris and I working dead-end jobs and eventually quitting, which is probably every artist s dream, Dijah explained about the song and its playful visuals. To go on and be able to perform and make a living off of art. All through the hard times weâve put it in overdrive and continued to work towards our destiny.

Head Above The Waters February 19, 2021 Toronto-based rapper DijahSB shared a new track, By Myself, on Friday, serving as the second single from their upcoming debut album
Head Above The Waters dropping this spring.
ADVERTISEMENT The Harrison-produced track finds Dijah rapping about survival and overcoming obstacles such as depression and anxiety on their own merit over mellow,bass-heavy production. [The song] gives you a little bit of insight on what my album tries to tackle, Dijah explained in the songs press release. I also wanted to slow it down.Harrison is like a brother to me and I havenât even met him yet. He really blessed me with a hot ass beat.â
