Representative image NEW DELHI: An alleged Al-Qaida operative, who is an MBBS doctor and is currently lodged in Tihar Jail, moved a Delhi sessions court on Thursday seeking permission to assist the prison authorities in treating Covid-19 positive prisoners. Sabeel Ahmed in his application filed through his advocate MS Khan stated that he is a “qualified MBBS doctor with seven years of experience” in management of critical cases. The application filed before additional sessions judge Dharmender Rana further stated, “His experience and expertise being a medical professional would be helpful for dealing with the surge in Covid cases and treatment of inmates in Central Jail, Tihar.”

Delhi court denies bail to man involved in fake Apple call centre racket ANI | Updated: Apr 03, 2021 11:30 IST By Sushil Batra New Delhi [India], April 3 (ANI): A Delhi court has rejected the bail petition of Nikhil Kumar allegedly involved in a fake Apple call centre racket, stating that the accused is part of a criminal syndicate that is involved in cheating gullible citizens overseas. Additional Sessions JudgeDharmender Rana, in an order passed on March 27, said that the accused made a conscious choice to earn his livelihood by resorting to illegal means. The investigation is at the initial stage and co-accused persons are reported to be absconding. Considering the nature of allegations, I do not find any merits in the application at hand, the same is accordingly dismissed .
