GILFORD TOWNSHIP Back during the Gilford Township Board of Trustees meeting in March, Supervisor Jim Stockmeyer reported the Quality Roasting plant is planning an expansion project.
“We will be adding some equipment to our production capabilities,” said Quality Roasting LLC CEO Scott Rebe. “And, we will be adding more bean storage. An 8,000 bushel bin will be built. That is expected to be started in June.”
Despite the upgrades, it will not require any new hires.
Currently, the plant can process about 70,000 bushels of soybeans per day, and about 2.2 million pounds of soybeans a year. That amount is only a portion of the approximate 3.67 million bushels of soybeans grown annually by farmers in the county.
