The government encourages the youth to gain practical skills for their vocations and create jobs for others.
As many young people seek to enroll at tertiary institutions to pursue their dreams, technical and vocational education and training (TVET) colleges are highly recommended to gain practical skills and create jobs.
Young people are encouraged to consider TVET colleges as an alternative to traditional universities. The country seeks to produce 30,000 artisans a year by 2030.

Today s occasion has its origins in the Local Government Elections of the 3rd of August 2016 - in which the majority of the people of this great City, demanded change.
Exam rewrite court case disadvantaged the class of 2020

It wasn’t enough that in 2020 South Africa found itself in the midst of a Covid-19 pandemic. Matriculants’ stress levels were compounded by the news of the deliberate leaking of two NSC exam papers in late 2020.

I was chatting with some grade 12 learners who had completed their Grade 12 National Senior Certificate (NSC) or matriculation exams. They said they were not sure which was worse: to immediately repeat the Maths Paper 2 and Physical Science Paper 2 examinations, which were leaked, or to wait until early 2021 for Umalusi to decide on the credibility and integrity of the NSC.
