The new electric pickup is available in XLT, Lariat, and Platinum models, and a base model is coming, too. This is the equipment each one gets.
The 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning will go on sale in the spring of next year.
It ll be available as base, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum models, and this is the equipment that they get.
Pricing will start at around $42,000 for the base model and $55,000 for the XLT; Ford has only announced MSRPs of $39,974 and $52,974 and has yet to confirm the amount of the mandatory destination charge.
Ford has announced prices for the 2022 F-150 Lightning s base and XLT models but not the Lariat or Platinum trims.
We re estimating the base price will be around $42,000 including a mandatory destination charge (Ford hasn t yet released the exact destination charge).
The XLT will start around $55,000 and the Lariat and Platinum versions will be considerably more expensive Ford says it will go up to $90,000.
The existing gasoline version of the Ford F-150 starts just above $30,000, but that sum is hardly representative of the broad range of models available. Similarly, the base price that Ford has announced for the new electric version of the F-150, the 2022 Lightning, is only part of the story. What we know so far is that the base Lightning, which is intended for commercial customers, will likely cost around $42,000 including a mandatory destination charge (Ford declined to confirm exactly what that charge is, so we re estimating it for now), and the XLT will cost around $55,000.
Ford F-150 Lightning Test Ride: Best-Selling Pickup Goes Electric
May 20, 2021 at 7:00am ET ++ Lightning strikes again.
Ford has revived the infamous Lightning name. Originally attached to the SVT F-150 Lightning in the 90s, it is now the designation for the all-electric F-150 line coming in 2022.
The F-150 has been the best-selling vehicle in America for over 40 years and is the best-selling truck in the world. If even a fraction of the F-150 market share switches to this new model, it could make this the most important EV on the stage since the Tesla Model S.
The Lightning is not a single trim in the F-150 lineup, but rather an entire line within the F-series trucks with 4 separate trims: Commercial Base (information TBD), XLT, Lariat, and Platinum. It will start at $39,974 and extend up to $90,000 when fully optioned.

F-150 Lightning blasts past 20,000 EV pickup reservations in half a day
Chris Davies - May 20, 2021, 8:41am CDT
Ford’s F-150 Lightning may only have been unveiled last night, but the all-electric pickup has already seen more than 20,000 reservations the automaker has confirmed. The new truck may look much like a regular, familiar F-150, but gone are the gas engines and, instead, two electric motors have been dropped in for 4×4 driving.
Between them there’s a battery pack – with Ford not quite ready to discuss its exact capacity – that’s expected to hit either 230 miles on the EPA’s testing for the Standard Range model, or 300 miles on the Extended Range. Both will have no shortage of power, with 775 lb-ft of torque expected.
