Donors have made Christmas come early for the hamper campaign as a rush in the final final week has propelled donations above our goal.
In a year when people can use it most, donors have come through with record support for the Jerome Taylor Memorial/Whig-Standard Christmas Hampers of Hope Fund. The campaign total to date is just over $185,000, the largest total in the fundraiser’s history. We are so thrilled to be able to provide a food hamper gift card to more than 3,000 households in our community.

What a terrific week for the Jerome Taylor Memorial/Whig-Standard Christmas Hampers of Hope Fund!
Donors continue to answer the call to support the hamper campaign and help us purchase gift cards for more than 3,000 local households. This week we had a great influx of donations, including $10,000 from our friends at Novelis. The good people at Novelis have always been supporters of the campaign and we appreciate their kindness. Together with many other donors this week, our total is nearing the $150,000 mark. Although we are short of our $175,000 goal, with about two weeks left in the campaign, we can see that goal in our sight, We are hoping for a strong finish in the comings week.

With just two weeks until Christmas, the hamper campaign has now passed the halfway mark and is closing in on $100,000. We are still a long way from our $175,000 goal, but we are confident the community will respond and continue to show support for the campaign.
The pandemic has made for a particular challenging year for many in our community. Even though we cannot provide a hamper of food this year, the gift card equivalent will make a huge difference for more than 3,000 households in our community.
