Dale Farm s Dunmanbridge processing site in Cookstown.
I see Northern Ireland (NI) dairy co-op Dale Farm has had a fancy makeover, with a rebrand designed to appeal to younger consumers.
Perhaps in the whole hullabaloo someone in the marketing team got a bit carried away, as like many others, I was surprised to see a Dale Farm recipe posted online designed to cater for “Meat-free Monday”.
The recipe was for stuffed roasted aubergine topped off with small bowl of Spelga Yoghurt (a Dale Farm brand) mixed with lemon juice and a pinch of salt.
Perhaps that sounds tasty to some, but it isn’t for me. I would doubt whether the 1,300 dairy farmers in NI that own the co-op would be that keen either. Many Dale Farm suppliers I know also produce some excellent beef by the way, in case you’re planning dinner for next Monday evening.
