If youâre wondering how Paige Bueckers stacks up against the best players in UConn history two games into their freshman year, the answer is pretty good.
Sheâs scored more in her first two games (17, 25) than Diana Taurasi (8, 0), Breanna Stewart (21, 11), Tina Charles (5, 18), Svetlana Abrosimova (13, 9), Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (7, 25), Katie Lou Samuelson (2, 5), Swin Cash (20, 14), Tamika Williams (17, 14) or Sue Bird (5, 4).
However, she isnât close to the Huskiesâ all-time leading scorer, Maya Moore, who scored 21 in her debut against Stony Brook and followed it with 31 against Holy Cross and 19 against Stanford.
In fact, Moore scored in double-figures in the first 31 games of her UConn career. She only scored under 10 points twice during her senior year, including seven in the NCAA Tournament regional final against Rutgers.
