Crews were able to quickly slow the spread of the flames that was at one point threatening homes with 15 to 20 foot flames.  The fire broke out just after noon Friday in a field between Summit Top Land and Sky Haven Circle, just north of Rose Canyon Road. Unified Fire Authority spokesperson Patrick Costin said seven agencies with over 70 fire personnel were initially called in to assist because concerns over protecting homes.
