Ethiopian refugees at Christmas mass pray for return home AFP 1/7/2021 AFP © ASHRAF SHAZLY Ethiopian refugees from the conflict-hit Tigray region attend Coptic Christmas midnight mass at a church inside Um Raquba camp Ethiopian Christians living in a refugee camp in Sudan have marked Coptic Christmas in exile, desperately praying to be reunited with loved ones and return to their conflict-hit home. Priests carrying wooden crosses led a night-time mass at the Jibreel (Gabriel) church, a hastily converted building in Um Raquba camp near Sudan s eastern border. Worshippers flocked in and out of the building to attend the prayers, which lasted into the early hours of Thursday morning.
