Metro Atlanta woman s nonprofit honors mother s legacy

A local nonprofit is donating pajamas to Children s Healthcare of Atlanta on Mother s Day.
A mother-daughter nonprofit s annual Mother s Day tradition will brighten children s day.
Dreams of Lois, started by teacher, wife and mother Ivory Cloud, began more than 10 years ago in honor of her mom, Lois, who died after a battle of breast cancer at 34 years old. Mother s Day was always super hard for me growing up without a mom, Cloud said. I always wanted to do something that would inspire the community and women that lost their mothers to have happiness when their mothers have passed on.

There are opportunities everywhere when you open your heart. The REACH Program and the City of Fayetteville have built a great partnership on the opportunity to help each other, and they celebrated the bond as the school year winds down and the students look toward a bright future.
REACH (“Reaching Educational and Career Heights”) is a program for students with developmental disabilities ages 18-21 that helps them get into the workforce and become independent and productive citizens, and the City of Fayetteville has employed REACH students for three years in a variety of roles at city hall.

The school systemâs REACH program and local non-profit Dreams of Lois are teaming up to bring comfort to patients at Childrenâs Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). Continuing an annual tradition, the donation of pajama packs helps bring smiles to families in trying times.
It was natural for Dreams of Lois and the REACH program to work together on the project. Dreams of Lois is a non-profit run by Ivory Cloud, a teacher with REACH.
Sisters Charity and Chasity Cloud have led the pajama pack project for the past eight years, culminating each year with a pajama party at CHOA.
