She may not have been able to wear the fancy dress and walk the red carpet, but Summerside filmmaker Susan Rodgers is thrilled to see her first feature film distributed to a worldwide audience.
Still the Water was released at film festivals in the fall of 2020 within the limits of COVID-19 restrictions. The Whistler Film Festival selected it to compete for the award for best Canadian feature.

Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch hosts Walk for Water fundraiser

Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch members and supporters, including an 8-year-old and an octogenarian, are getting creative raising money to bring clean water and sanitation to a village in Peru.
This year’s recipients for the annual Walk for Water event, which will be virtual this year, will be 3,600 people living in the community of Villa Talandracas, Peru. The cost to provide them with a sustainable water system is $150,000, and the money will come from local, Rotary District 6960 and Rotary International grant funding. The Rotary Club of Lakewood Ranch currently serves as the host international club for eight similar projects in Peru.
