SHIRLEY, Mass. â January 27, 2021 â Bemis Associates â a manufacturer of thermoplastic films, tapes, and adhesives for bonding â in partnership with DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products, is announcing the launch of its first Sewfree® product made using renewable material.
Biobased Sewfree 3700 has been developed utilizing 25-percent bio-based Susterra® propanediol from DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products, a renewably sourced, plant-based building block that delivers high performance across a wide variety of polymer applications. Susterra propanediol is a molecular building block that forms a key part of the polyurethane structure, resulting in a direct beneficial impact to carbon footprint as compared to standard petrochemical polyurethane building blocks.
Testing firm Eurofins Softlines and Leather has had a further four of its laboratories approved under the ZDHC Roadmap to Zero Programme to conduct ZDHC Manufacturing Restricted Substance List (MRSL) V2.0 Level 1, 2 and 3 Conformance for buyers and suppliers worldwide.
ZDHC MRSL supports good chemical management by helping to avoid the use of hazardous substances during production and manufacturing. This solution facilitates the creation of end products that meet the requirements for cleaner outputs.
In addition to Eurofins BLC in the UK, which has already been approved for Level 1, 2 and 3 in 2017, the new ZDHC MRSL V2.0 Level 1, 2 and 3 conformance approval has been given to another four Eurofins Softlines and Leather laboratories: Gurgaon, India; Como, Italy; Alicante, Spain; and Istanbul, Turkey.
