It all began when I moved to Houston back in 2004. I instantly was amazed by the kindness and generosity of our listeners. One of our first big events was a fund-raising drive for the Indian Ocean Earthquake and Tsunami in early 05. I could not believe how people came forward to donate money to aid people halfway around the country. Then came the startup league HODA (The Houston Dodge ball Association) raising money for local causes such as Texas Adaptive Aquatics and The Houston Furniture Bank. In 2005 Hurricane Katrina hit my adopted home of New Orleans and I knew we had to do something. On August 29, I watched the city I love go underwater.
