It s not uncommon for Chevrolet Corvettes to sell for big bucks. The first 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray that rolled off the production line sold for a staggering $3 million at a charity auction, and yet it won t ever be driven. Likewise, the final C7 Chevrolet Corvette ever built sold for $2.7 million. Corvette fans may want to keep an eye on this month s Mecum Auctions Rick Treworgy s Muscle Car City 2021 event, where one owner s cherished Corvette collection will be going up for sale.
As many as 200 cars from the Muscle Car City Museum in Punta Gorda, Florida, will be sold at the event, most of which are Chevrolets including 48 Corvettes spanning multiple generations.
Mecum event running from January 22-23.
The museum was created by Rick Treworgy and has a particular focus on Chevrolet, with no less than 80 Corvette models from every generation,
The Drive notes. Treworgy had been planning to sell the collection in 2022, but after the coronavirus pandemic reduced visitors, Dana Mecum convinced him that now was the time to sell.
A look at the array of vehicles being sold during the auction reveals a plethora of unique and rare muscle cars that will no doubt attract bids from far and wide.
Vehicles that will be auctioned off by Mecum this Friday, January 22, include various Chevrolet pickups from the 1950s and 60s, a plethora of Chevrolet Camaros, Chevelles, Pontiac GTOs, Chevrolet Impalas, Bel Airs, and a particularly nice Chevrolet K5 Blazer that caught our eye.
