The Golden Gate Bridge is still screeching, but a fix may be on the way

On June 5, 2020 the iconic bridge found its voice, and it wasn t pretty.
It s been almost a year to the day that the Golden Gate Bridge started its screeching that sounds like torture, but a fix could be on the way.
The sound has been described by locals as everything from making music, to eerie, to huge and all encompassing.
This writer heard the unearthly hum from the Memorial for Peace at Land s End this weekend, and can confirm that the sound, piercing through the fog combined with the eucalyptus branches cracking overhead, is a truly strange phenomenon.

Larry Collins has met quite a few celebrities over the years at his job. Niners Hall of Famer Joe Montana stopped by with a trailer full of horses once. NBA legend Bill Russell was the nicest, stopping to chat with him for a few minutes. Another NFL Hall of Famer, Ronnie Lott, even gave him an autograph.

Sonoma County has taken back their appointment of Windsor Mayor Dominic Foppoli to the Golden Gate Bridge District. The Board of Supervisors voted unanimously yesterday to rescind their appointment of Foppoli, who faces multiple allegations of sexual assault. He was one of three Sonoma County representatives appointed to the district last week, just days before the San Francisco Chronicle first reported the allegations.
