KUWAIT CITY, Jan 11: The Ministry of Education announced there will be no paper or electronic exams for the first semester of the current academic year ‘2020-2021’. Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education Faisal Al-Maqsid said in a press statement after his meeting with the ministry officials that studies for all levels in all educational districts will be completed according to the dates specified in the ministerial decree for the ‘online’ distance education system in force at the moment in all schools.

KUWAIT CITY, Jan 7: The Ministry of Education’s distance education will, on the 14th of this month, announce the end of the first semester for 2020-2021 in the three educational stages, and the start of the midyear vacation, starting from next Thursday until March 1.
The sources revealed the amendment related to working hours and school holidays has not been resolved yet, especially after the minister of education canceled the paper exams, which were supposed to start on Jan 25 and last for ten days, and then the educational bodies continue to work to monitor grades and issue certificates, provided that the mid-year vacation begins from Feb 14 to Feb 24, and schools resume on March 1 after the National Day and Liberation Day holidays, bringing the total of holidays to 14.

Majority of parents have given thumbs-up to the distance learning programme being implemented by the Ministry of Education for students with special needs.
Ministry of Education’s Department of Special Education Director Khaled Al Saeedi revealed that a recent opinion poll conducted by the administration showed parents’ satisfaction and admiration for the application of virtual lessons for their children with learning difficulties and slow learning.
The virtual lessons were launched at the beginning of the current school year as part of great efforts to sustain the education of special education categories.
They praised the teachers’ performance and interaction level, scientific material presented, timing of the lessons, awareness of the safe use of technology, and the rules for distance learning.

Doha: Seven million transactions have been completed so far this year through the Ministry of Interior (MoI) s e-service app Metrash2.
“The Ministry of Interior’s annual completed transactions have not been affected much by the coronavirus pandemic. This is due to the availability of most of the services on the Metrash 2 app,” said Brigadier Abdul Rahman Ali Al Farahid Al Malki, Assistant Director-General of Information Systems at the MoI. Speaking to Qatar Radio yesterday, Al Malki said, “During the peak of the pandemic, we operated distinctly. We continued to provide our services to everyone through Metrash 2. Despite closing all service centres to prevent physical contact, we continued to provide services to clients.”
