Drink driver s surprising give away to police

Premium Content Subscriber only A woman driving from Seal Rocks to Banora Point gave away she was under the influence by driving wide and under the speed limit. Alison Marie Cornish was seen by police on Fraser Dr, Tweed Heads South on January 27 at 1.30am where she was running wide between the lanes and travelling 70 to 75km/h in a 80km/h zone. The 33-year-old was stopped for a random breath test where she told police she d consumed alcohol about one hour earlier. She returned a blood alcohol concentration of 0.154. Further checks showed her licence had also expired on January 12, 2021.

Police use road spikes to catch speeder – The Echo

Police say that on Friday at around 10.45pm, they received information that a stolen Hyundai Santa Fe was travelling south of the Pacific Motorway towards the QLD/NSW border. The vehicle was seen entering NSW at a speed of 165 km/h in a 100 km/h zone and officers attached to Byron Bay Traffic and Highway Patrol initiated a pursuit. Road spikes were successfully deployed at Tweed Heads and the pursuit continued around Tweed Heads South and into Banora Point where the Hyundai stopped in Kintyre Crescent. The driver, a 27-year-old man, was arrested. Two male passengers, both aged 27, were also arrested with the assistance of QLD PolAir after attempting to flee into nearby homes.
