COVID-19: Three deaths and 525 cases reported; 37 cases in Meath and 20 in Louth By Simon Doyle
Three Covid-19 deaths have been reported by the Department of Health.
525 cases of the virus have also been confirmed in the past 24 hours.
Of this evening s cases, 37 are in Co. Meath and 20 are in Co. Louth.
423 people are in hospital with the virus, with 103 receiving intensive care.
It brings the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the Republic to 4,422 and the total number of confirmed cases to 223,219.
138 cases of the virus have also been confirmed in the past 24 hours.
2,075 Covid-19 deaths have taken place in the six counties.

A local councillor is calling for safety improvements to be made at the pedestrian crossing at the junction of Castletown Road and Bridge Street in Dundalk.
