COVID-19: Three deaths and 525 cases reported; 37 cases in Meath and 20 in Louth By Simon Doyle Three Covid-19 deaths have been reported by the Department of Health.  525 cases of the virus have also been confirmed in the past 24 hours.  Of this evening s cases, 37 are in Co. Meath and 20 are in Co. Louth.  423 people are in hospital with the virus, with 103 receiving intensive care.  It brings the total number of Covid-19 deaths in the Republic to 4,422 and the total number of confirmed cases to 223,219.    138 cases of the virus have also been confirmed in the past 24 hours.  2,075 Covid-19 deaths have taken place in the six counties. 

Keelan calls for safety measures at pedestrian crossing in Dundalk

LMFM By Ruth O Connell The issue of the crossing at the Castletown Road-Bridge Street junction was raised at the Municipal District meeting. A local councillor is calling for safety improvements to be made at the pedestrian crossing at the junction of Castletown Road and Bridge Street in Dundalk. Fianna Fáil s Conor Keelan tabled a notice of motion at the Municipal District s monthly meeting, saying it s been a long-held objective of members since before the abolition of Dundalk Town Council in 2014. However, he was told that low cost safety schemes have a limit of 30 thousand euro this year, and a pelican crossing would cost 60 thousand euro:

LMFM By Simon Doyle The firm s CEO and two senior members of staff resigned yesterday after a finding of wrongdoing by the firm issued by the Central Bank. The pressure on embattled stockbroker Davy is mounting in the wake of the scandal over a 2014 bond deal.  The Business Post reports sources in the financial industry believe the National Treasury Management Agency could drop the firm as one of its main bond traders.  Yesterday the firm s CEO and two senior members of staff offered their resignation, after a finding of wrongdoing by the firm issued by the Central Bank and a €4.1 million fine.
