Man (50s) dies following two-vehicle crash near Lordship By Marc O Driscoll
A man has been killed following a two-vehicle collision near Lordship in Co. Louth.
The crash took place between Loughanmore and Jenkinstown on the R173 this afternoon at approximately 2.15pm.
The man in his 50s was seriously injured when his car collided with a lorry.
He was airlifted to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda, where he died a short time later.
The R173 remains closed this evening between the Ballymac Roundabout outside Dundalk and Carlingford to allow for a Garda forensic examination.
Local diversions are in place.
