It s Grand National day and 40 horses will battle it out in the world s greatest steeplechase at 5.15pm.
Tipperary jockey Rachael Blackmore took the Cheltenham Festival by storm and she could make more history at Aintree today by becoming the first woman to win the famous race.
She partners Minella Times for Waterford trainer Henry de Bromhead, who is one of seven runners for owner JP McManus.
Ryanair boss Michael O Leary is also well represented in the 4m2½f contest, with his Gigginstown House Stud responsible for five entries.

The 2021 Randox Grand National, the world s most famous jumps race, takes place at 5.15pm on Saturday with 40 horses vying for a place in racing legend. Here, we outline five methods you can employ to help you pick the winner . . .
Form
The easiest place to start is with the form of each runner, but that can be tricky as the Grand National is a handicap race designed, in theory, to allow all runners to set off with a level chance. A horse s form is usually reflected in the official ratings given to each, with that rating determining what weight they will be allocated for the race.

I m giving an each-way shout for Sub Lieutenant to show his 100-1 odds are too big. He has never fallen, possesses great stamina and both the horse and Tabitha Worsley fared well separately over the National fences two years ago. When the family bought him off Michael O Leary he joked: One day he will win the National. There s an omen!
Conor McGinn MP, shadow minister of state for security
It s Anibale Fly for me. He has coped well on his two Grand National outings and looks favourably handicapped.

Good luck!
It may not be quite the message the Government has wanted to get across to the public in the last 12 months but, as a degree of normality begins to return, it is time we should all start Takingrisks.
A year after the Randox Health Grand National was cancelled by Covid, the 173
rd running will finally take place albeit in front of its smallest ever crowd which might just about amount to 1,000 people if you add up the owners, trainers, officials, racecourse staff and police.
