Anaheim Ducks re-sign Carrick brothers, Vinni Lettieri to 1-year contract extensions
The Ducks announced the moves Tuesday. Sam Carrick got a one-way contract, while Lettieri and Trevor Carrick will be on two-way contracts.
Sam Carrick scored an NHL career-high six points in his 13 games with the Ducks last season. The 29-year-old center has appeared in 47 NHL games with Anaheim and Toronto, but has spent most of his pro career in the AHL. He is the career scoring leader for the Ducks top affiliate in San Diego.
Trevor Carrick was acquired by Anaheim in a trade with San Jose last January. The defenseman has appeared in seven NHL games for the Sharks and Carolina while playing 434 AHL games.

Sharks run out of gas, fall to Avalanche

DENVER Nazem Kadri had two goals, one midway through the third period to snap a scoreless tie, and the Colorado Avalanche beat the Sharks 3-0 on Thursday.
Kadri also had an assist, Philipp Grubauer had 21 saves and Andre Burakovsky scored for the Avalanche.
Colorado scored 15 goals over its previous two home games, including seven in Tuesday’s win against San Jose, but offense was hard to come by Thursday. The Avalanche had just 18 shots on goal through two periods and also hit the post a few times.

OTTAWA The Ottawa Senators have acquired forward Jack Kopacka and a 2022 seventh-round draft pick from San Jose in exchange for defenceman Christian Jaros.
Kopacka was acquired by the Sharks from the Anahaim Ducks earlier Wednesday in exchange for defenceman Trevor Carrick.
The native of Lapeer, Mich., had 15 points (seven goals, eight assists) over 37 games with the Ducks’ American Hockey League affiliate, the San Diego Gulls, in 2019-20.
