Miner’s First Pro Shutout Leads Colorado to 1-0 Win over Roadrunners Feb 27, 2021
LOVELAND, CO. – Colorado Eagles goaltender Trent Miner turned aside all 20 shots he faced to collect his first professional shutout and help propel Colorado to a 1-0 victory over the Tucson Roadrunners on Saturday. Forward Mike Vecchione’s first goal as an Eagle would prove to be the game-winner, as Colorado claimed five of a possible six points in the three-game series against the Roadrunners. Miner also notched his first professional point with an assist on the Vecchione marker.
Vecchione would stake the Eagles the early lead when he drove the net and slammed a rebound past Tucson goalie Connor LaCouvee to give Colorado a 1-0 edge just 5:54 into the contest. Each team would earn one opportunity on the power play in the first period, but neither side would be able to produce a goal and the Eagles and Roadrunners would head to the first intermission with Colorado enjoying a 1-0

San Diego Rides Hot Start to 7-3 Win over Eagles Feb 20, 2021
IRVINE, CA. – The San Diego Gulls netted three goals in the first 5:03 of the contest and never looked back, as the Gulls defeated the Eagles by a final score of 7-3 on Saturday. Forward Andrew Poturalski led the way for San Diego with a goal and three assists, while fellow forwards Trevor Zegras and Vinni Lettieri each netted a pair of goals. Colorado forwards Kiefer Sherwood and Riley Woods each posted a goal and an assist in the loss, while forward T.J. Tynan collected a pair of assists.

EL SEGUNDO, CA. – Colorado forward Shane Bowers scored the team’s lone goal as Colorado fell to the Ontario Reign, 2-1 on Wednesday. Reign forwards Arthur Kaliyev and Blaine Byron each found the back of the net. Colorado goaltender Trent Miner made his second-consecutive start in net, making 37 saves on 39 shots in the loss.
Each team would earn a power play in the early stages of the contest, but neither side would be able to capitalize. The game’s first big opportunity came on a shorthanded rush down the ice by Reign forward Samuel Fagemo, who would be hooked from behind, leading to a penalty shot at the 8:24 mark of the first period. Fagemo would be denied by a save with the right leg pad from Miner and the contest would remain scoreless.

Miner was drafted by Colorado in the seventh round of the 2019 NHL Draft and has spent the previous two seasons with the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League.
