TRURO A dog died in a basement apartment fire Saturday afternoon, according to Truro Fire Chief Tim Collins.
The Truro Fire Department was called to the residential home on Bayview Drive at 2:44 p.m., Rullo said. The fire was contained to the basement apartment, he said.
A dog died as a result of the blaze but no other individuals were harmed, Collins said.
The house is currently uninhabitable, Collins said. He believes one person lived in the downstairs apartment and two lived upstairs. The electricity to the house was pulled and fire crews were waiting for the building inspector to come to the scene, he said.
