Six brands unite to increase accessibility to fruits and veggies

Healthy Family Project’s annual Power Your Lunchbox campaign launched earlier this month with a focus on empowering kids to pack their own lunches, make after school snacks and help prepare family meals along with a new element that puts the spotlight on super star teachers. The program, now in its eighth year and in partnership with health-conscious brand partners, has raised more than $165,000 to benefit charities that support families.

Produce For Kids Launches Kit For Retail Dietitians The new Produce for Kids “We Heart RDs” program, designed to provide the growing number of retail dietitians with family-focused healthy resources, recipes and activities to use in-store, has quickly gained steam with more than 300 retail dietitians at 45 grocery retailers across the U.S. and Canada receiving the free monthly kit. Components of the “We Heart RDs” kit, which launched last March, include a counter card for easy identification of what produce is currently in-season, recipes featuring those produce items, “I’m a healthy eater” stickers for kids and timely tips from the Produce for Kids team of blog contributors. The components will switch out with each mailing based on season and current topics of interest.

Healthy Family Project shares 2020 impact and outlook for 2021

January 15, 2021 Healthy Family Project wrapped 2020 raising $210,780 through cause marketing programs focused on living a healthy lifestyle and inching ever further passed the $7 million raised milestone. Organizations benefitting from funds raised include Feeding America, United Fresh Start Foundation and Our Military Kids. In addition to total funds raised, other 2020 successes include reaching more than 20 million families with healthy lifestyle resources through website, social media and alternate communications; executing 20 live online cooking classes; in-store signage in 3,160 grocery stores across the U.S.; and the Healthy Family Project podcast, which covers everything from meal prep to mental health, surpassing 21,000 unique downloads. “2020 was a year of growth at Healthy Family Project as we transitioned our brand and made changes in our overall strategy to pivot with consumer behavior.
